This revised version was announced on 17 August 2026 and takes effect on 16 September 2026. Until then, the previous version (effective 31 July 2026) continues to apply.
DAMSORA is operated from the Republic of Korea. These Terms are governed by Korean law. Region-specific provisions for consumers in the EEA/UK (Sections 6, 8 and 11) and a notice for users in Japan (Section 12) appear below.

2. Definitions
- Service — the DAMSORA video conversation platform connecting Korean native speakers (Partners) with learners.
- User — any registered member who has accepted these Terms.
- Partner — a Korean native speaker registered on the platform to conduct conversation sessions.
- Credit — the in-app currency unit granted monthly based on subscription plan.
- Session — a single video conversation between a User and a Partner.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years old to register. We verify your age via date of birth at sign-up.
- You must provide accurate information. False information may result in account suspension.
- One email address may be associated with only one account.
- If you register as a Korean native speaker (Partner), this must be true. Misrepresentation may result in account correction or suspension.
4. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you at least 7 days before changes take effect via in-app notice. If changes are materially unfavourable to you, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
5. Subscriptions and Payment
- The Service is provided on a monthly subscription basis. Credits are issued monthly per your plan.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Credits have a validity period that varies by type: complimentary bonus credits (sign-up and referral bonuses) are valid for 14 days and compensation or adjustment credits for 90 days, while the validity of subscription plan credits follows the period stated in the Service (e.g. on the pricing page). Credits expire at the end of their validity period; grant and expiry details are shown in the Service.
- The Service is sold by DAMSORA, and your contract is with DAMSORA. Payments are processed through a payment service provider designated by the Company. The name of the payment provider and any provider-specific payment terms will be disclosed on the checkout screen and in the Service when payment features are made available.
- Whether displayed prices include VAT, sales tax, or consumption tax applicable to your country of residence, and how such taxes are calculated, is indicated on the checkout screen.
- Payment receipts are delivered to your registered email or made available in the Service.
- Card information is handled solely by the payment service provider and is never stored on DAMSORA servers.
- If you are a minor under applicable law (under 19 under Korean law), paid purchases require the consent of your legal guardian; a purchase made without such consent may be cancelled by the minor or their guardian.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
Withdrawal of subscription purchase
You may withdraw from your subscription within 7 days of purchase and receive a full refund, provided that:
- you have not yet used any Sessions during that period; and
- you did not waive your withdrawal right by requesting immediate access to digital content.
This reflects the Korean E-Commerce Act §17 (and §17(2)(4) limitations for digital content that has already been delivered). Refunds are issued to your original payment method, typically within 7 business days. Submit a request by emailing support@damsora.com.
Additional withdrawal right for consumers in the EEA and UK
If you are a consumer residing in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of subscribing, without giving any reason (Directive 2011/83/EU and equivalent UK rules). By subscribing, you request that the service begins immediately. If you withdraw after using the service within the 14-day period (e.g. by attending a Session), we may deduct an amount proportionate to the service already provided; once the service has been fully performed at your request within that period, the withdrawal right lapses.
To withdraw, email support@damsora.com with a clear statement of your decision — no specific form is required, though you may use the model withdrawal form annexed to Directive 2011/83/EU. Refunds are issued within 14 days of your notice to your original payment method.
Per-session cancellation (credit refund)
- Session cancellations are refunded as credit, not cash.
- Cancellations more than 12 hours before the session: credit automatically returned.
- Cancellations within 12 hours of the session start, or no-shows: credit forfeited (no refund).
- Cancellations of bookings not yet accepted by the partner: credit automatically returned regardless of timing.
Subscription termination
- If you have not used any Sessions during the current billing cycle, the withdrawal rules above apply.
- If you have used Sessions during the current billing cycle, you may still cancel your subscription and request a refund of the remaining balance. In that case we refund the amount paid less (i) the value of the service already provided (based on Sessions used and time elapsed) and (ii) any cancellation charge permitted by applicable law (no more than 10% of the total payment). We provide the calculation details with the refund.
7. User Obligations
You agree not to:
- Collect or share other users' personal information without consent
- Disrupt the normal operation of the Service
- Share illegal, obscene, or violent content
- Harass, threaten, or abuse Partners or other users
- Solicit off-platform payments from Partners
- Fraudulently obtain credits, tickets, or other benefits
- Misrepresent your Korean native-speaker status to circumvent platform restrictions
8. Content Moderation and Account Suspension
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. Where we take action against your content or account, we will, where reasonably possible, notify you of the decision, the reason, and your options for redress through our internal complaint handling channel.
To report illegal content or Terms violations, contact support@damsora.com.
For users in the European Union, this section constitutes our content moderation policy under the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). Our single point of contact for users and authorities is support@damsora.com (English and Korean). Where we remove your content or restrict your account, we will provide a statement of reasons where required, and you may contest the decision through our internal complaint-handling channel at the same address.
9. Session Code of Conduct
During video sessions, you must not:
- Make sexual remarks or expose your body
- Use abusive language, threats, or verbal violence
- Record the session or share its content without the other party's consent
- Collect the other party's personal information without consent
Violations may result in immediate session termination and permanent account suspension.
This service collects video call metadata (join/leave timestamps, disconnect counts, average latency, etc.) for quality analysis and dispute resolution. See the Privacy Notice for details.
10. Limitation of Liability
DAMSORA is not directly responsible for the content of conversations between Users and Partners. Our liability for damages arising from Service use is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Matters relating to Partner payout accounts, including misdirected transfers caused by inaccurate account details entered by the Partner, are governed by Section 13 (Partner Terms).
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be submitted to the court with jurisdiction over our registered address.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
As an alternative to litigation, users may seek mediation through the following Korean bodies:
- Content Dispute Mediation Committee: www.kcdrc.kr
- Electronic Transactions Dispute Mediation Committee: www.ecmc.or.kr

13. Partner Terms (Status, Payouts and Content Licence)
Status and eligibility
- Partners are independent service providers engaged by DAMSORA to deliver Sessions. Partners are not employees, agents, or business partners of DAMSORA, and no contract is formed between Users and Partners. Session compensation is paid by DAMSORA at fixed per-session rates that DAMSORA determines and publishes in the Service.
- DAMSORA operates a native-speaker check and reviews Partner profiles (photos, introduction videos) for publication suitability. These checks do not constitute a warranty of any Partner's credentials, qualifications, or the accuracy of profile information; responsibility for such information rests with the Partner who posted it. This does not exclude DAMSORA's liability for its own intent or negligence.
- Partner status is personal and non-transferable; Sessions must be conducted by the registered Partner in person.
Payouts
- Payouts are calculated at the fixed per-session rates published in the Service and aggregated bi-weekly; balances below the minimum payout amount (KRW 20,000) roll over to the next cycle.
- Where payments are subject to withholding under Korean tax law, DAMSORA deducts the applicable taxes (currently 3.3% for business income: 3% income tax plus 0.3% local income tax) before payment and makes the deduction details available to the Partner. Withheld amounts are credited against the Partner's annual income-tax liability.
- DAMSORA may request information legally required for payout and tax filing (including the Partner's resident registration number); payment may be withheld until such information is provided.
- Where a Session is refunded or cancelled, or amounts were accrued fraudulently or paid in error, DAMSORA may deduct or set off the corresponding amount against unpaid payout balances, or withhold the disputed amount for a reasonable investigation period (up to 120 days), notifying the Partner of the reason and amount.
- If the service agreement with a Partner ends (including account deletion), DAMSORA pays the entire unpaid payout balance — without applying the minimum payout amount — on the first regular payout date after the end date; the payment rules of this Section (including tax withholding) apply equally. Where payment cannot be made for reasons not attributable to DAMSORA (such as a missing payout account), the balance does not expire; it remains payable upon the Partner's request, subject to the statute of limitations under applicable law. DAMSORA is not responsible for misdirected or failed transfers caused by inaccurate account details entered by the Partner; Partners must register and maintain accurate payout account information.
Content licence
- Partners retain all rights in the content they provide for their profile (display name, photos, self-introduction, introduction videos — "Partner Content").
- Partners grant DAMSORA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use Partner Content to the extent necessary to provide and operate the Service, including display within the Service, search and listing exposure, thumbnail generation, and delivery and reproduction via content delivery networks (CDN).
- Use of Partner Content in advertising or promotional materials outside the Service requires the Partner's separate prior consent.
- Upon loss of Partner status or account deletion, DAMSORA ceases displaying and deletes Partner Content, except for records of completed Sessions, information retained under applicable law, and technical cache or backup copies, which are deleted within a reasonable period.
- Partners warrant that they hold the necessary rights in their Partner Content and must not post content infringing third-party copyright, portrait, or other rights.
